The second Principals Upfront of 2018 was held on 26 July at the Matthew Goniwe School of Leadership and Governance. This seminar offered an alternative approach to discipline in schools – a way that does not involve violence.
The first Principals Upfront of 2018 was held on 15 March 2018 at the Matthew Goniwe School of Leadership and Governance. This seminar unpacked some of the drivers of school violence and highlighted some suggestions for creating safer and more supportive school and learning environments.
The Principals Upfront Dialogue of 17th May 2017 focussed on effective ICT use in schools. Panellists shared their experiences of implementing and using ICT for instructional and administrative purposes, and provided insight into some of the challenges and the enabling conditions for successful implementation.

Instructional Leadership: Leading Learning was the topic at the Principals Upfront held on the 18 August. Professor Pam Christie explored some of the global and local debates on instructional leadership, while principals Venessa Moodley from Actonville Primary School and Colin Northmore from Sacred Heart College shared their views and experiences as school leaders.
