The current discourse in education, brought by the pandemic, has resulted in trauma affecting both the teachers and learners. This Coalition meeting highlighted some of the ways in which schools have used self-directed professional development to adapt to teaching in the times of the pandemic and to harness some of the learning losses. Diversity and transformation are imperative as they ensure that schools are spaces that appreciate differences while enabling teachers and students to step up to get things done and to step into difficult situations to resolve them.
