M&E Meeting Highlights

March 2020 marked the start of public recognition of the Covid-19 virus in South Africa, and the practice of social distancing. In response to this new reality, BRIDGE held its first online only M&E CoP meeting, with over 40 participants on the Zoom platform. The meeting comprised a ‘master class’ on the challenges of data, conducted by Leticia Taimo from Khulisa. We explored types of data, common problems with data collection, and lessons learned about data; we also took part in learning activities, identifying incorrect or missing data, and talking about ‘what not to do’ in terms of presenting data. In addition, Melissa King from BRIDGE shared the findings of a formative evaluation commissioned by our funder Zenex Foundation, and carried out by Saide. These findings will help us shape the agenda for the M&E CoP in 2020.
