Public TVET colleges are funded from public money through the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). In 2015 there were 50 public TVET colleges with over 260 campuses across all nine provinces, in cities and even in small rural towns. The many campuses ensure that colleges are easily accessible to young people, which lowers the cost of transport and accommodation for students.
